Bildungsurlaub Course

What is Bildungsurlaub?

Bildungsurlaub means “educational leave” in German. Every year, German employees are entitled to take up to two weeks of paid leave to study full time on a selected course of their choice at a Bildungsurlaub approved institute.

To be recognised, each school must meet a set criteria and prove that their courses are suitable and intense enough to qualify. Each Bundesland has slightly different requirements, so recognition must be applied for from each region.

If you apply for this through Alba English School, you will have a full-time course to improve your English in all areas: speaking, writing, reading, listening, pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary.

Participants must be over the age of 18. Please note all participants are required to have a minimum B1 intermediate level of English.  

Bildungsurlaub Intensive General English Course

You will study in a small group of students in a class that is appropriate for your level of English.

You will join the Intensive General English Course and study English 22.5 hours per week | 30 lessons per week

In addition to our language lessons, the additional 10 hours of cultural lessons, which are optional, become a requirement for participants of Bildungsurlaub from the states of Baden-Württemberg, Hessen, Niedersachsen, and other states requiring more than 30 lessons per week

During the course, you will focus on the core English skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Particular attention to fluency and vocabulary expansion is given to students. Our highly motivated and qualified teachers will help you build your confidence, knowledge and fluency in English.

9:15 – 10:45 General English Group Lessons
11:00 – 12:30 General English Group Lessons
13:15 – 14:45 General English Group Lessons

Fees:

1-week full-day: 30 group lessons + 10 cultural lessons 550€
2-weeks full-day: 30 group lessons + 10 cultural lessons 1000€

All students will be required to pay a one-off 60€ registration fee and a one-off 40€ materials fee.

Students can take these courses from the following German states: Baden-Württemberg, Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Hessen, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony, NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia), Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony-Anhalt, Schlewsig-Holstein, Thuringia
