English Exam Preparation: IELTS
Our IELTS exam preparation courses examine the Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening parts of the exam to make sure you are very familiar with the test format. You will learn vocabulary and language structures that you will need in the exam. Learn how to avoid common errors and use the strategies to help you get the best mark.
General English & IELTS Course 22.5 hours per week
Study General English, Monday to Friday mornings to improve your overall English level with a maximum of 12 students, plus reduced size group afternoon classes Monday to Friday focussed on IELTS exam preparation, 90 minutes per day with a maximum of 8 students.
9:15 – 10:45 General English Group Lessons.
11:00 – 12:30 General English Group Lessons
13:15 – 14:45 IELTS Exam Preparation in a reduced-size group
General English & Evening IELTS Course 18 hours per week
Study General English, Monday to Friday in the morning to improve your overall English level with a maximum of 12 students, plus evening IELTS classes usually on Mondays and Wednesdays focussed on IELTS exam preparation with a maximum of 12 students.

18:30 – 20:00 IELTS Exam Preparation two evenings per week (usually Mondays and Wednesdays)
IELTS Evening Class 3 hours per week
Evening IELTS classes on Mondays and Wednesdays focussed on IELTS exam preparation with a maximum of 12 students.
18:30 – 20:00 IELTS Exam Preparation two evenings per week (Mondays and Wednesdays)
Note that if you are the only student registered for a Beginner (A1), Elementary (A2) or Advanced (C1) course, or any evening course, we may replace your 90-minute group class with a 60-minute 1:1 class.

IELTS Exam Information
When you want to book your exam, you can go to the British Council’s ‘Take IELTS in Scotland‘ page. You can take the exam with Basil Patterson or ‘Mobile Testing Solutions’, who have an exam centre just a minute away from Alba English.
Be careful to book the correct test – Academic or General, UKVI or not. Ask your IELTS teacher if you have any doubts
