The Grand National

The Grand National is a long-running British tradition. Join the millions of British people who gather round in the pub to watch one of the most thrilling spectacles in sport. At four and a half miles the Grand National is a marathon horse race in the extreme, severely testing the partnership between jockey and horse as the jump over 30 fences.

Alba English organize a Sweepstake for Students. Workplaces all over the country run a ‘sweepstake’ for The Grand National – the most famous horse race in the UK. Check the runners and riders list in the kitchen and choose your horse!

How it works:

1. Decide which horse you would like to bet on.

2. Place your bet at reception.

3. Come to the Globe Bar on Niddry Street on Saturday 9th April at 16:30 to watch the race. Kip will be there to take last minute bets and to award the prizes.

Have fun and good luck!
